Trained in Japan, Thailand, Europe & US. With Over 39 Years Of Experience In Martial Arts.

Dr. Daniel Ruocco is the Chief Master Instructor and founder of the International Martial Arts Academy. Sensei Ruocco started martial arts in Capri, Italy when he was 6 years old, competed for many years as an aggressive competitor, taught martial arts in Europe, Japan, Thailand, and United States and currently holds the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in Multi-Style System, 5th Degree Black Belt in Jujitsu (JA, USJA), 4rt Degree Black Belt in Judo (USJA). He also holds rank in Karate, Kick Boxing, Ashiara Karate, Kenpo, Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, Kobudo, and Kendo. Certified USA JUDO National Coach, Jujitsu America Instructor, and JA Sport Jujitsu referee. Sensei also served in the Italian army.

In 1999, Sensei Ruocco received a Doctorate in Sports Science with elements of psychology, child education, anatomy, and biology. He also has written a thesis in “Spine Malformations in the Developmental Years”.  Sensei Ruocco found great success winning numerous awards and earned international recognition for his Martial Arts skills and teaching methods. He was honored with “Instructor of the year 2006” and “Police Tactics Instructor of the year 2007” by the “Hall of Fame Martial Arts”. The highest honor for Sensei Ruocco was to be awarded “Instructor of the year 2010” from Jujitsu America, one of the best martial arts federation in the world.

Professor Daniel Ruocco has also received the “Blue Ribbon Award” for I.M.A.A. for his excellent contribution and dedication to the Martial Arts. The Blue Ribbon Award represents the school and school owner´s excellent service, dedication,  experience, and inspiration. It recognizes that the school is at the forefront of the rising martial arts scene. Since 2008 the International Martial Arts Academy is been awarded the “Best Martial Arts School / Best Program Award” in Broward County. In October 2009 International Martial Arts Academy was given the “2009 Top Martial Arts School Award” by EFC Black Belt Schools a martial arts management agency and by its international board of directors of Martial arts. Every two years Sensei Ruocco has the great honor to train with the best of the world in Kodokan Judo Institute Tokyo, Japan.

Sensei Ruocco currently directs all his efforts to bring the benefits of Judo, Jujitsu and other arts we teach to the local community. Personal Thoughts: “Everything you need in life can be worked on in the Dojo A strong BODY, a sharp MIND and a vital SPIRIT.”

ALEX JACOBSON - 3RD DEGREE BLACK BELT - KODOKAN JAPAN

Mr. Alex started Judo at the age of seven. He moved to Japan in 2006 upon graduating high school to focus on Judo. He trained at the Kodokan and several other clubs and universities in the Tokyo area for four years and then decided to enter Tenri University to aim for the Olympic team and study martial arts. Tenri University is one of the best universities in the judo and I trained at least twice a day, for six days a week for the four years he was there. He studied judo theory and teaching methods for his degree.
In 2017, he moved to the national training center to train for the Olympics. In 2019 he secured a silver medal at the national championships. In September he fought for a medal at the Pan American Open in Santo Domingo, an Olympic qualification event.
In January 2020 Mr. Alex decided to retire from my Olympic run for 2020 and go into teaching and giving back to the community.
